Why do I gets sleepy after I eat?

During a meal, your body releases hormone called cholecystokinin that helps signal when you should stop eating. It has the effect of making you drowsy for an hour or even longer. The fact that blood rushes to your digestive system and away from your muscles following a meal also adds to that 'food coma feeling.

Don't want it have post -lunch droopy lids? Eat light. The bigger the meal, the more tired you're likely feel afterward. Steer clear of fat-and-carb-heavy fare as well. A lean ham sandwich is a good stay alert pick, while a big bowl of pasta will make your brain hit snooze.
